Paul (90 yrs old WWII Pilot)
and his son Gary "Kevin, my father and I just wanted to thank you for taking us up in your pristine Texan T-6 Trainer. My siblings and I are always trying to figure out a good Christmas present for our father which will not get returned. Recently I was out at the Somerset Airport where I soloed back in 1968 and saw your brochure in the Operations Center and thought this would be a great gift for a 90 year old WWII flight instructor. Since he had about 1500 hours of flight time in the T-6 training pilots during WWII and had not flown one in 66 years this would be a great nostalgic flight for him. He loved having an opportunity to get back into the cockpit and take control of the aircraft even performing some aerobatic maneuvers, i.e. barrel roll and loop. I was very surprised that being 90 years old and not flying one for 66 years that it all came back to him. Hope you enjoyed some of his WWII stories and thanks again for the great flight.

"Just wanted to thank you again for a great flight in your SNJ-6 WWII trainer fighter plane. My wife outdid herself in setting this up for me. The flight followed my life and career over the past 68 years and was the perfect birthday gift for me. The weather was exceptional and the views flying at 2,000 feet out of this world. I loved taking the controls and actually flying the plane along the Delaware River. The barrel-rolls were exciting, especially looking at the sunset upside down. Your plane is in mint condition & well maintained. I felt very safe."

"I'm still on a high from our ride last night. Can't tell you how much I enjoyed the aerobatics and having the opportunity to take the controls of your beautiful airplane. I was totally comfortable throughout the flight. You're a great pilot!"

"What a great ride in the T-6. My wife bought it for me as a birthday present and it was exciting and unforgettable. We had a beautiful day for a flight and the maneuvers were thrilling to say the least. Nothing like seeing sky, ground and sky again. Thanks for the flight. I already recommended it to someone at work. I'm hooked, so you might see me again within the next year."

" Thank you for an incredible flight today aboard your beautiful T6 Aircraft. The flight was spectacular - up over my marina in Sandy Hook, up the ocean beaches and between the towers of the Verranzano Bridge to the Statue Of Liberty and topped it with an amazing set of acrobatic maneuvers and scraffing run! Thanks again for an unforgettable ride."

"I want to thank you for a most enjoyable flight in your pristine North American SNJ-6 Circa 1944. Your tour of the North Jersey and N.Y.C. area was great, over Staten Island around the Statue of Liberty, up the Hudson River, past twin towers site, the Intrepid Museum all the while pointing out points of interest as the two Yankee Stadiums, up over the G.W.B. and to the Alpine tower, and then the Coupe de Theatre , Acrobatics, a roll, loop, aileron roll, mock dive booming. And to complete the flight a perfect 3 point landing. You made my day, many thanks."

"Thank you very much for an unforgettable ride on the T-6. I must say that the tour you took me on and the aerobatics that you performed while I was onboard was an unforgettable experience. Over time, I have been on board various airplanes, but this one will always be the one that I will remember as the most outstanding. The way you handle the plane and your professionalism is a true tribute to all good pilots. I can recommend all who has an interest in flying taking a flight with you - including the aerobatics. It looks scary from the ground but when you are up there and feel Kevin's confidence and skills there is only one thing to do: lean back and enjoy the ride of your life..."

"It was the best birthday present I've ever received! You were great to me, and great to my wife and daughter who came to watch. I really appreciated how nice you were to my daughter; especially letting her sit in the plane and putting the helmet on. She wants to know when she'll be old enough to go on a flight. I highly recommend a flight to anyone. I would especially recommend this pilot to anyone. Thanks again for a great experience and I'll see you for our next flight."

"Over four decades ago, I held a student pilot license and flew a Piper Cub J-3 out of Somerset Airport. A job transfer to the mid-west brought my flying days to an end. Yesterday, a flight in your World War II T-6 instantly recaptured the excitement and delight of flying that I had not felt since 1963. Wow, I am so thankful to you for this wonderful opportunity and your superb flying skills."

"My family recently gave me a "Warbird Flight" as a birthday present but did not list a location for it. I found several on the Internet and settled on the flight offered by you. What a great choice I made! Your airplane is absolutely in gorgeous condition and shows a great deal of loving care by a pilot owner. Your willingness to explain the plane, where we were going and some of the maneuvers we did made the flight all the more exciting. I have flown with a number of other pilots, both civilian and military, and found you to be extremely competent and willing to go out of your way to make it a wonderful experience. I would heartily recommend to anyone interested in a "war bird flight" to book it with you."

"The greatest experience ever!!! Thank you so much! It was a birthday present for my husband and he will never forget it - neither will I. The pilot was such a pleasure! Very friendly and knew everything there is to know about planes. We felt very safe with him. Wow Wow Wow!!! "

"Kevin, thanks again for a great flight. It is obvious from the appearance of the airplane and hanger that you take a great deal of pride in the T-6 and it's maintenance. Your friendly manner and professionalism would put anyone at ease. As a new low time pilot flying with you in the T-6 was a wonderful experience. Very different from the Cherokees and 172s I have been flying, the airplane handled great. After postponing a number of times do to weather, I don't think we could have asked for a better day. Ending with the two rolls and the overhead break to landing was icing on the cake. Thanks for letting me get some stick time in a true Warbird."

"My 45 minute flight with Kevin in the T-6 was a surprise birthday gift from my wife and daughters. It was a total and most memorable surprise when I realized Id be flying in a WWII bird, something Id been wanting to do for a long time. Ill be honest, I had few butterflies in my stomach at first glance of the T-6, but immediately after meeting and talking with Kevin, I knew I was in good hands with a most experienced and professional pilot. By the time we took off, I felt completely at ease, as Kevin had taken the time right from the start to explain everything."
"Kevin gave me the controls as we flew out to the Jersey shore, up the coast, over the Verrazano and around Lady Liberty. It felt truly amazing to be airborne once again ...especially in this spectacular bird! The icing on the cake though were the two rolls we did on the return to the airport. That was the best high this 46 year old could have asked for! I truly enjoyed flying with Kevin, and would recommend this experience whole-heartedly to any flying enthusiast. Thank you Kevin.

"Thanks again for a great ride! The following is a note I wrote to my children to thank them for my birthday gift."
Dear Karen, Joe and Lauren,
I wanted to thank you all for an absolutely wonderful birthday gift. It was a gift that I would not have thought of for myself, but it is one that I will never forget. Although I knew I would enjoy it, I never imagined what a thrill it would be. I flew the plane for most of the 90 minutes we were in the air. Kevin Russo, the pilot, was a consummate professional. He made me feel very comfortable and explained where we would be going and what we would be doing before we left the ground. A portion of the route we took was up the Hudson River, which was the route I use to take when I flew. When we flew over the Verrazano Bridge, I told Kevin I use to take my family on plane rides up the Hudson and I use to fly around the Statue of Liberty. He invited me to fly around the statue, which I did. It was great!!
Towards the end of the flight, Kevin demonstrated some acrobatic maneuvers, which I never did when I flew. He actually had ME doing barrel rolls, aileron rolls, a clover leaf and a 360 degree loop. When we did the 360 degree loops, Kevin said we were "pulling 4 Gs". That means your body is pushed back into the seat at a force that is 4 times your own weight. What a feeling!!
As a very smart person once told me; ".....life is a collection of experiences and memories...". This was an experience I will never forget. Thank you all!!
Love,
Dad

"I am writing to thank you for helping me make my Fathers birthday one that he will never forget. We both had such an exciting day! We have watched our home made video a few times since then and it clearly solidifies our unforgettable experience. We both had such a ball that my father constantly speaks about doing it all over again. You are a true professional who has clearly won over a repeat customer!!! Thank you!!!"
Lorraine
"I had a really great time flying and aerobatics were awesome. would definitely do it again!"
Michael
"I just wanted to send a HUGE THANK YOU from my entire family. My father jack is still buzzing from his warbird ride with you. I know he won't stop talking about this for months, years even! Thanks again for everything. You truly made his 60th birthday something he will never forget!"

"My father-in-law is a WW2 veteran, having worked as a flight mechanic on warbirds for the Navy. When he helped me with a house restoration recently, I was trying to think of something to do for him which would be truly memorable.
I saw his eyes well with tears when I told him I had booked a 90-minute flight on the T-6. He was talking about it to family members for days before the event, and when the big day came, he went up and was able to pilot the plane for a time, since he has a pilots license. He had never flown a plane like this one before, and he was truly pleased with his trip. Kevin Russo is an accomplished professional and the T-6 was in immaculate condition. I will want to schedule a flight for myself as soon as I can go through flight training."

"Thanks for the opportunity, it was a spur-of-the-moment decision and I'm glad I took it! I have a new appreciation for fighter pilots now. The barrel roll we did was incredible and its nowhere near any amusement park ride I've ever been on. I e-mailed the photos I took to my friends and I was getting extremely jealous responses all week long after my flight. I think were all going to get together soon and book a day of flights! Thanks again and I cant wait to go up again!"
Christopher
"I flew with Kevin at the Ocean City Air Show against my better judgment but I have to say it has been a week and a half and I am still enjoying that 15 minutes. I want to thank him and say I'll see him next year at the show. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience."
